Using the AI model Wav2Vec2, which was initially trained on human speech, researchers analyzed vocalizations from 74 dogs of various breeds, ages, and sexes. The AI can discern whether a bark indicates playfulness, aggression, anxiety, or fear, and even identify the dog's breed, sex, and age.
